As part of the effort to advance tech literacy in disadvantaged communities and prepare youths for the jobs of tommorow, Roothub Accelerator Systems has partnered with The African Youth and Young Adults (AYAYA), a US-based 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization, nonprofit, and non-government organization, to expand its scope of operations.
Through this strategic partnership, The Roothub and AYAYA have created a teaching platform replete with computers, localized curricula, and instructors designed to mitigate the problems of low digital literacy levels and lack of exposure to critical technology. Youths of Akwa Ibom state and across Nigeria can now take advantage of the platform and build their skillsets to attract great jobs, build profitable businesses, and advance their career growth.
It’s clear that young people in rural and disadvantaged areas are in dire need of technology training and adoption, but barriers to achieving these are great. Organizations like AYAYA and The Roothub are continually interested in enabling and supporting platforms that address this challenge.
AYAYA, as part of the first phase of this partnership, has provided ten (10) laptops to be deployed for training as well as provide a mentor pool to provide remote strategic guidance to trainees accross the state of Akwa Ibom. The Roothub will run the trainings, as well as provide IT Support and train-the-trainer services to AYAYA associated individuals and organizations.
Roothub Accelerator Systems’ is where change goes to work. A community, co-working space offering members a unique ecosystem of resources, inspiration, and collaboration opportunities to grow.
AYAYA’s mission is to to uplift underprivileged children of the African Continent by empowering youth to engage in community service, cultural immersion and innovation in Africa.
